DETAILS of the three schemes that have been shortlisted for the multi-million pound redevelopment of Hinckley’s town centre bus station site have now been published, together with artists' impressions.

A series of special exhibitions was held in the town last week, at which the three proposals from St. Modwen, Ashcroft Estates/Wilson Bowden and Henry Boot could be viewed.

Officers were on hand to answer questions and all comments made will be taken into account in advance of interviews with each developer.

Following the interviews with developers in mid May, it is expected that the preferred development partner will be announced in June.

Work will then begin on the submission of a planning application designed to bring about the regeneration of a key site in Hinckley town centre.

For the moment, the council is not identifying which scheme has been designed by which developer, as it doesn't want the public's opinion to be swayed by familiarity with a developer's name.

Instead, the proposals have been simply labelled Scheme A, Scheme B and Scheme C,

* 13 shops

* three restaurants

* 763 space car park

* cinema above a supermarket

* department store

* 20 smaller retail units

* hotel

* 600 space car park
